Sun Drenched Warrington

 

Warrington RC enjoyed a sun drenched Sunday for their Summer Show at Warrington Equestrian Centre. Perhaps a sign of things to come for the remainder of the year.

 

With over 60 dressage entries the dressage arena was in full flight. After last years late finish an earlier start this year helped in the running of the day. Dressage scores were tight throughout all classes. Only 14 points separated the top five in the Primary class with top spot going to Andy ridden by Siobhan Mahon of the host club. Sue Owens and Antipets Crackajack from Waterford claimed first in the Advanced Primary. There was a tight contest for the remaining places with Midlands Piper, Stephanie Downes and Trigger, Claire White sharing second. The Intermediate class was also a close call. However, it was worth the trip for Carnes’ Eimear Murphy and George who edged out Stonehavens Welcome and Hazel McCarthy from Waterford. Rocket Science and Patricia Lalor from Belline held onto first in the Advanced Intermediate from Rehy Tomboy and Emily Sayers, with only two points separating the scores. Hannah Bjoremark from Nuenna had two winners of the day, taking first in both the Green Horse and Open/ Advanced Open with Castle Lawn and Fairflax respectively.

 

Show Jumping began at 10.30 and competition was tough as it was the first interclub show of the year. Warrington were strongly represented in the Primary class , claiming the first three spots with first going to Pepper and Martine Hogan. Clonmel made the trip and claimed first and second in the Advanced Primary with Rincon and Eileen Nolan and Ralph, Claire Caplice. With four clear rounds in the Intermediate it was decided on time. Molly and Laura Whitney were clear in 30.93 with Warrington’s Anne Phelan on Meadow Flight clear in 32.56. Carnes’ Lisa Whitehead was the only clear in the Green Horse on Ballyell Little Jim. The Advanced Intermediate was again decided on time. It was a close call with Coolbells’ Kevin Veale clear in 31.32 on Coolbell Brady from Warrington’s Michael Ormond clear in 31.96 on Ardenteggle Mr Puissance.

 

All roads lead on the 25^th to Woodstown RC and their Summer Show at Pallas Equestrian Centre, Woodstown, Waterford. Hopefully the fine weather from Warrington will travel also.
